Day 5 Celebrations
Fri 27 Mar 2020I would like to thank everybody for all the effort you have gone to this week. Staff for tackling new ways of working; parents for supporting your children and tackling new ways of working; and children for all the amazing learning you have done.
Thanks you for feedback and constructive thoughts about our Distance Learning practices. This afternoon I had a Zoom meeting with members of staff and we talked through how things were going. It was lovely to see everyone's faces up on the screen at one time. I thought the meeting would last 30 minutes but I had to cut them off chatting after 1 hour! I will send some information to you by Parentmail this weekend.
Here's what you've been up to today ...
Holly designed a Green City. The design was backed up by a clear rational for why she had included the things she had. Good to see the people are observing the Social Distancing rule!

Archie interviewed his dad about how he used Maths at work and home. I learnt something from the interview ... camera lenses still use imperial measurements.
Alex also interviewed his Dad about Maths. I asked if he planned his questions like a real journalist would.

Olivia was looking for signs of Spring outdoors:
Finally - thank you to these parents who sent me this message ...
At the end of the first week of schools being closed and ‘home schooling’ I wanted to write and say a huge thank you to you and your staff for the support you have provided parents this week. Your regular communication, together with the daily varied tasks set by your teaching staff, have made this week educational and fun for xxx and much easier for parents who, like you all, are navigating their way though this uncertain time.
We hope you and your staff (and families) and staying safe and well.Wishing you a happy and relaxing weekend. This is going to be the strangest time - no clubs, no big shops, no eating out but you have each other and you are in the best place to stay safe.
Take care,
Mrs Ingman and staff

Day 4 celebrations
Thu 26 Mar 2020I have managed to join Conkers class Seesaw and have seen all the wonderful posts. Their interviews about maths have brought a smile to my face. I think we may have the next John Humphries in our midst - some challenging questions for the adults.

Celebrating Day 2
Tue 24 Mar 2020I hope you are all enjoying this new way of working. As the sun is shining I hope you have been able to be outside for part of the day.
Mrs Gray and Miss Morrison were here with me today. They took advantage of having the bikes and trikes to themselves (well they did share with the children who are here too).
Look what Evelyn in Year 5 did today ...
Harry C has been busy drafting ...Well Done!
Year R have been busy too:
Mrs Hutchinson was thanked by a parent for being 'virtually there'.
Staff working from home have kept in touch electronically and have been supporting each other and trouble shooting for each other to keep the systems operating.
Without the daily operations in school I have actually managed to get through some of my To Do List and not had to add new things on!
Keep in touch with us.
Best wishes,
Mrs Ingman

Celebrations of Distance Learning
Mon 23 Mar 2020Dear all,
During these very strange times I thought I would try to update the school community and celebrate home learning using this News page.
I was a bit apprehensive this morning and wondered how all our plans and the technology would work. I am delighted to say we haven't had too many cries for help. Staff in school have been excited to send and receive messages too!
i) We have seen video clips of parents and children working out with Joe Wicks and this inspired the Year R staff to have a go and post on Seesaw!
ii) The older children have been posting maths and writing on to Seesaw and the teachers have been able to give almost instant feedback to support and encourage them.
iii) Here's a link to a more creative home learning activity. Congratulations to Alex M in Year 3 for writing this poem using Book Spines!
iv) Thank you to one parent who has taken the time to give us some positive feedback.
Hello All,
I just wanted to drop you an email to say thank you for all your efforts over the past week in getting everything set up in order to enable the children to continue learning from home.
I fully appreciate that this would have been a massive task and with little time for planning. To have us up and running for a proper day of learning today is an amazing achievement and I wanted to pass on my thanks to all involved. So far Abi is loving the set up and so happy that she is able to see and communicate with her teacher.
Having spoken to friends with children at different schools today and having heard their experiences I really think what you have achieved has been amazing so thank you.
Hopefully we will see you all again soon.
Many Thanks
Please keep sending in photos, videos etc and please let us know how you are all doing.
take good care.

Match 1 vs Weald 3-0
Match 2 vs Leigh 5-0
Match 3 vs Hever 3-1
Match 4 vs Penshurst 2-0
This is very much a nurturing tournament which allows for learning and growth.
The children played beautifully as a team: finding the space, good marking and some excellent goals scored.Congratulations to the team and thank you to Mr Boon and Mrs hall for coaching. Thank you also to parents for supporting us.
