Online Safety
The digital world is posing an ever increasing risk to children and it is important that schools, parents and guardians work together to take an active role in educating children about the dangers they may face, how to address these situations and how to act safely online.
Our lead for Online Safety is Miss S Campling.
Whole School Approach
At Crockham Hill School, we are proud to take a whole school approach to online safety. We have an extremely comprehensive scheme of learning that is discretely embedded within our computing curriculum. This scheme provides children with the skills and knowledge to navigate the online world safely.
Keeping Children Safe
We are committed to ensuring that children are armed with the knowledge to keep themselves safe whilst using technology, however there are some things that are out of their control. As a school we have set up our devices with safety at the forefront. Our Ipads and computers have management software on them which ensures effective filters and monitoring systems are in place across all devices across the school.
Crockham Hill School accepts that personal mobile phones and tablets are often given to pupils by their parents to ensure their safety and personal security. As a school, we must take a sensible and practical response. We have policies in place to ensure the safe and correct usage of these online technologies both inside and outside of school.
What parents need to know
Here are a series of parent guides produced by National Online Safety about the most common games and apps that children may be using. These are useful, informative and highlight the age-restrictions and associated risks.
If there is any additional information that you require or you are concerned about what your child is doing online, please contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads as soon as possible.
