Revd Sue retirement

Dear parents and children,

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Revd Sue informed me that she would be retiring at the end of January.

I had planned to involve you all this term in preparing a farewell for her but as it became clear that we would not have all the children in school and not be allowed to have visitors I asked if she would like to postpone her farewell until we can all gather together. She said that she would definitely like to be able to come back and have a farewell when it is permitted and safe to gather. So, as soon as we know we can gather I shall be in touch.

In the meantime the following announcement was sent to me:

Following the retirement of The Revd Sue Diggory, as Vicar of Crockham Hill on 31 January 2021, The Bishop of Rochester is pleased to announce that an interim role has been offered to The Revd Alison Cooper. The precise details of the appointment, which will be for a period of one year, will be confirmed once all legal formalities have been completed.

Alison very much looks forward to taking up this position. It is hoped that it will be possible to License her in March. Alison would very much appreciate your prayers at this time.

As you will read, the precise details of the appointment have not yet been announced so I will let you know more as soon as I hear.

I am sure you will join me in wishing Revd Sue a very happy retirement. She has been an amazing support for our Crockham Hill School community and we will miss her care, dedication and kindness all wrapped up with her inimitable Revd Sue humour! I will be able to say more when we all meet together sometime in the not too distant future - hopefully in warmer times too!
