Year 3 Gamalan Workshops at Sevenoaks School
Our Year 3 children had a fantastic opportunity to take part in a Gamelan music workshop at Sevenoaks School. Gamelan is a traditional ensemble from Indonesia, featuring beautiful percussion instruments such as gongs, metallophones, and drums. The children learned about the cultural significance of Gamelan music and explored its unique sounds by playing together as an orchestra.
This hands-on experience not only introduced them to a new musical tradition but also encouraged teamwork, listening skills, and creativity. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they discovered the rich textures and rhythms of this fascinating art form.
