'In our final Science lesson of Year 6, we made 'blood'! First, we poured water into a bottle and added salt and yellow food colouring to represent plasma which contains proteins, sugars and salts. Then to represent the blood we added red food colouring along with Cheerios (as red blood cells), white marshmallows (as white blood cells) and raisins (as platelets). Red blood cells carry oxygen around, white blood cells help prevent diseases by fighting them and platelets create scabs'.
