An Out of This World Visit to KS1!

Blast off! KS1 had an out of this world day when a planetarium visited our school.
Bluebells and Acorns classes were very excited to welcome a planetarium into school for a special space-themed day.
The children took part in an immersive session where they stepped inside an inflatable planetarium and travelled all the way to the Moon! Surrounded by stars, planets and space images, the experience truly brought our learning to life and sparked lots of curiosity and excitement.
During the session, the children learnt interesting facts about space and enjoyed looking closely at the Moon as they explored what it would be like to travel there. The planetarium visit was a fantastic opportunity for the children to deepen their understanding of space in a fun, hands-on and memorable way.
After the planetarium experience, the children returned to their classrooms to take part in an engaging workshop with Scientist Sophie. She taught the children all about Moon craters, explaining how they are formed and why the Moon’s surface looks the way it does. The children loved asking questions, sharing their ideas and taking part in practical activities.
It was a wonderful day of learning for both Bluebells and Acorns classes, and an experience the children will remember for a long time. We were so proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity and brilliant listening throughout the day!
