  • Hindleap

    Published 22/05/26

Year 5 spent the latter part of the week at HIndleap Warren.

Activities included: abseiling, firepits, team building, high ropes and so much more.

The feedback has been amazing with children pushing themselves out of their comfort zones and giving everything a go. We were even told that lights were all out by 10:30pm on the last night! We could not be prouder of them as for many this was the first time staying away from home.

I am sure there are lifelong memories made which they will remember for a long time.

  • May Fair 2026!

    Published 16/05/26

What an absolutely amazing May Fair we had this year! Despite the rain, it did not stop people joining in with the stalls, eating amazing cake and catching up with each other.

This event could absolutely not happen without our wonderful PTA, headed by the fabulous Mrs Keeley. We can not thank you enough for your hard work in making this event such a roaring success! The children were wonderful with their dancing, helping on certain stalls and there was an incredible community atmosphere. A key event which we look forward to every year. Thank you for supporting the school.

We learnt about the spread of the fire, the rats and how the fire was stopped. What a great day!

  • National Screen Free Week 2026

    Published 06/05/26

The children were entirely confused when they arrived in to school on Wednesday morning with all screens turned off! In Collective Worship, Mrs Manson introduced 'Screen Free Week' - a national initiative to try and encourage the reduction of screen time. Staff spent a whole morning teaching in the old fashioned way using whiteboards and paper! Some classes even took their learning outside (which YR6 thought should happen every day!).

It was a great morning, still full of learning.

I shared the link in the newsletter last week, please do explore this with your families. Please make contact with school if this is something you want support with at home.

  • KS2 Tudor Workshop

    Published 04/05/26

At the start of the week, Years 3, 4 and 5 welcomed a Tudor history workshop into school, giving children an exciting, hands-on way to explore this fascinating period.

The day began with an interactive timeline, helping children understand where the Tudors fit in history, followed by demonstrations where teachers were dressed as Tudor figures, bringing warfare and life at the time to life. Pupils also enjoyed a safe Tudor longbow demonstration and took part in activities exploring medieval jobs and the development of armour.

In the afternoon, children learned about Tudor home life, took part in a “skins and skulls” quiz, and explored Tudor medicine, including a memorable barber surgeon demonstration.

Overall, it was an engaging and enjoyable experience that helped bring the Tudor period to life and deepen pupils’ understanding.
