2015-2016 was the first year of the new tests assessing the new curriculum. The Department for Education has made it very clear that we cannot compare this year’s test results to previous years’ because the standards of the new curriculum and the standards of the new tests are not comparable.
The table below shows the percentage of children reaching the expected level in Reading, Writing, Grammar,Punctuation and Spelling, and Maths. Please note that the Writing level was assessed by teacher assessment which was moderated in cross-county moderation meetings.
The final line of the table shows the percentage of children who reached at least the expected level in all three areas: Reading, Writing and Maths.
NB – Due to our small cohort size – 20 children – 5% equates to 1 child.
